Candidate Verification Methods

RefNow uses verification apps such as Yoti and Linked in order to increase the trust of the candidates and references provided. This adds an extra layer of security in order to prevent fraudulent references being provided.

To complete the verification step follow these instructions:

  1. In the email you received from RefNow, click the link to Complete Referee Details.

  2. Select the option to Verify My Identity.

  3. Select one of the following options:

Verify With Yoti App

  • Yoti is a verification app helps people to prove who they are. You can see it as having your ID on your phone, therefore being a digital ID.

  • The Yoti App only supports UK and Ireland Passports.

  • Follow the instructions to setup the App and scan the QR code to share your details

Verify with Linkedin

  • LinkedIn as we all know being a professional network tool, can also be used to verify who you say you are.

  • Follow the instructions to login to Linkedin and share your verified details.

  • Linkedin may not be available as an option if you are requested to provide ID verification to verify your Right To Work status.

Verify with Passport

  • You can upload a photo of your ID document using the camera on your computer or mobile device.

  • Verify with Passport using Yoti only supports UK and Ireland Passports.

  • Follow the instructions to take a photo of your ID document and upload it.

Provide a GOV.UK Share Code

  • You can login to the UK Government website to access your Right To Work Share Code and provide it into RefNow as part of your verification.

  • Follow the instructions to generate a share code on the government website and add the details to RefNow in the boxes provided.

  • You also need to enter your Date of Birth.

We always strongly recommend candidates complete the verification step as this increases the trust of your references.
